Peter Cree is an artist  and woodworker whose work is inspired by global culture, history and artistic practices.  Incorporating elements of joinery, carving and sculpture, each piece is unique.

Technical Notes Peter uses some power machinery, such as a 4 inch grinder, table saw, edge jointer and power plane to shape the basic flitch - a raw slab of wood. From there he uses traditional hand tools like antique planes, a lathe, mallet and chisels.

Most joinery is mortise and tenon with hardwood pins. Legs are sometimes joined with a hand brace and Irwin bits. The goal is a synthesis of the best historic and current design techniques.
