Commission a Portrait by Josephine Coniglio
Josephine Coniglio brings a contemporary style to the tradition of portraiture. Subjects are photographed in a natural setting utilizing personal props to capture expressiveness and qualities of individual character. Sittings may be held at a location of your choice or in the artist's studio. Ms. Coniglio takes her own digital photographs for the paintings but on occasion will work from a vintage family picture.
Once the painting has begun, expect several months to complete. Paintings are done in oil on cradled panel. Due to many layers of paint necessary to develop a detailed image, oil paintings require long drying time. To avoid damaging the work the painting must be competely dry before shipping. Watercolor and drawing from life or the photograph is available.
Josephine Coniglio received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and BFA with High Distinction from California College of the Arts. For many years she taught at City College of San Francisco and was the director of a portrait painting academy in Santa Fe. Her work has been exhibited nationally and is in many private collections. Her studio is located in Nazareth, Pa.

A 50% down payment is required to begin the painting. The painting must be competely dry prior to shipping to avoid damaging the work.
